The Abra of Salkantay Pass; 4630m 🏔 #startedfromthebottomnoweehere
Day 2 would be the toughest. That's what every blog & tour description said. They were right. Starting the day at the base of Salkantay with a crust of ice on the inside of the tent, our moods improved with the temperature and the meters climbed as we hiked to the top of the pass. Greeted at the top by perfect weather & incredible views of Peru's 3rd highest peak, we celebrated with some biscuits & a tin of tuna before hiking the next 13km downhill to Chaullay.
