Handwinching the truck out of deep snow. At 8700'. And then it starts snowing. You know you're an overlander (or crazy) when this is a recipe for a good time! ...and maybe it's time for an electric winch. Any suggestions?
We completely lost track of time and shortly after this was taken, it got dark and we walked 4km along the beach in pitch blackness to get home. Angry dogs were lurking in the darkness (one got way too close for comfort) so we didn't wanna use the phone light too much. I had a broken bamboo stick and Craig had a little rock he found for 'protection' to wave around in the air should a bandito dog get too close. The stress was high and the speed walking fierce. Shit was getting real out there lol.
