ATTN ALL PREMEDS: This is a slide from my cell bio/ physiology lecture today. If there's any advice I can give you as a freshly minted med student 😜, it's to PLEASE pay attention to your biochem and Ochem classes in college! You will see a LOT of that stuff in med school. And most importantly, take the MCAT seriously-- I realize this now (I didn't at the time), but I can see why the AAMC stresses upon biochemistry and Ochem so heavily. It's ALL recurring stuff in med school! Take the time NOW to learn it and solidify it instead of initially having a weak basis and then needing to reteach yourself everything in med school. Get a good understanding of it. It will make your transition into med school SO much easier. We just spend the last week going over acids and bases, lipids and membranes, carbohydrates, proteins, and amino acids!! I know I learned all this before, but for some of it I didn't study "deep enough" or frequently test myself to make the information stick. Now I'm paying for it in med school because I have to spend extra time relearning it all 😓😓 I'm not asking you to do this; I'm TELLING you to! It's for your future! Save yourself time and effort in med school and do it NOW. The MCAT is very good on testing y'all on this kind of stuff. Take it seriously because you WILL have to know it down the line!! #medicine#medschool#medicalschool#medstudent#medicalstudent#inspo#inspiration#motivation#quote#quotes#advice#medadvice#science#nerd#nerdlife#scrubs#hospital
If a simple act of kindness makes you happy, imagine how much happiness you can create by making an effort to be kind to others💙 It is the strangers who radiate postivity that I appreciate and remember most. Kindness changes lives.
