SEE. Khunjerab. We were headed to the Pass at Pakistan-China border via the Karakoram Highway passing through the Khunjerab National Park. Saw a couple of Ibex and got fairly close to several Yaks. From the national park station, elevation rose quickly. The Pass at height of 4,693m or 15,397ft is the highest paved international border crossing. An avalanche blocking the road around 4300+m prevented us from reaching the Pass itself. Highest point on land I've ever reached by the easiest way possible. Quick ascent by car meant little time for acclimatisation, hence had lightheadedness, headache & shallow breathing. Just took it easy & enjoyed the view. Memorable moments #Hunza#khunjerab#gilgitbaltistan#travel#seepakistan#memorymovie#alhamdulillah
Giving Mrs. Sohat Bakht a print of a photo I took of her and her family last year.
There's a story behind this interaction. Last year I was passing by her house and in her language (Wakhi/Xikwor) she motioned me to come in so she could give me apples from her garden. I rushed in and left the door open. She said something along the lines of 'close the door or the devil will come in', or so I assumed (since I have not yet fully learned the language) because she put up two fingers behind her head as to imply horns. I later got to know that she meant cows not devil :) #behindthescenes#gulmit#gojal#gilgitbaltistan
