Celebrating the legacy of Alexander Calder today.
Calder made time a sculptural medium. A jovial kinetic ballet.
What happens when you poke, blow, prod?
An activated energy current, a reminder of the Universe's restlessness, as we are constantly in motion.
Calder shares his early ideas with LIFE Magazine: "The first inspiration I ever had was the cosmos, the planetary system." -March 5, 1965.
In our Fifth Avenue residence, the mobile is in place of a chandelier. The work is lit independently and becomes the focal point of the minimalist interior.

Loved designing this contemporary dining space in a Fifth Avenue condo in New York City. The dark table color also was used in the coffee table in the living room, and stools and cabinets in the kitchen, bringing the whole look together.
