Got back to the hotel in Portland at 9pm and needed a little upper body work. 💪🏻 All this travel is making me too soft. I try to tell myself this is my "off season" and my body will be ready to hit it hard again in 2 weeks. But then, one handle of my resistance band breaks 😰 and then the other handle breaks one set later. 😩😭 Still made it happen. 👊🏻 One thing that I have learned is that things may frustrate me, but nothing is going to deter me from what I have set out to do. I already made the decision to work out. We can choose to let things derail our motivation or we can just move past it.
Grateful in this moment that I purchased a new #trx at #ideaworld last week.
I'm making this post more so for myself... That being said, I'm sharing because maybe this will inspire & possibly help someone else...
I've had gastro issues since I was 16 (I'm 32). I was diagnosed with idiopathic pancreatitis, the doctors couldn't find what was causing my pancreas to flair up. Since then I'd spend weeks in the hospital hooked up to an IV, unable to eat or drink, around once a year. Last year it all got worse, in & out of the hospital at least 4 times, multiple outpatient procedures. The doctors told me I needed a Total Pancretectomy with Islet Cell Transplant & soon, otherwise I may not make it. So I get a second opinion, & then a third... all saying the same. This is no small surgery, I am a mom of a 13 year old autistic boy & I have finally met the love of my life @jaguarmillz so it is NOT my time to go yet! So I have the surgery... During which they completely removed my pancreas (which handles digestion, hormone, & insulin production), my spleen, & parts of my intestines & stomach. Since surgery life has completely changed! Am I still I pain? Yes. But no where close to the pain I had before! Yes, I now have diabetes. I am Type 3C diabetic & I have to take enzymes to digest my food & insulin to control my bloodsugar. But, at least now I can move on with my life!
Hopefully sharing this can help someone somehow... #ireallymisspie#bepositive#bestrong#silverlining#dontgiveup#diabetes#pancreatitis#surgery#musc#charleston#athensga#hometown#atlanta#totalpancreatectomy#totalpancreatectomywithisletcelltransplant
