Here’s a new painting I just finished called “The Perfect Shot”. If you’re from Austin, you definitely know about having photos taken in bluebonnet fields. It’s a yearly ritual that is hilarious to watch. For some reason, all of these fields are right by the road too.
I’ve taken my fair share of bluebonnet photos of my family and others, so I decided to create this painting to poke a little fun at all of it. We have a dad who’s dutifully taking the picture. A dog who’s more interested in himself. A mom who’s checking out the guy driving by, and two kids who would rather fight (they may or may not be loosely based on my kids). The original is a 24”x36” acrylic painting on hardboard. It was a ton of fun to create it, and I have prints and canvases available now at fineartbyeric.com (link in profile).
