The Pursuit of Happyness starring Will Smith ( #IAmLegend ), Thandie Newton ( #RunFatBoyRun ), Brian Howe ( #AnnabelleCreation ), James Karen ( #WallStreet ), Dan Castellaneta ( #TheSimpsons ), Kurt Fuller ( #AngerManagement ), Takayo Fischer ( #Moneyball ) and Jaden Smith ( #TheKarateKid ). A struggling single father pursues a life-changing professional career. This is one of the most heartwarming movies I have ever seen. It's such a great story which sucks you in from the first minute. Knowing the movie is based on a true story too just makes it all the more inspiring. Will Smith delivers his finest acting performance with such power and effortlessly becomes such a sympathetic and likeable character. He is spectacular in every scene he's in and got a well deserved Oscar nomination for this role. Of course Will Smith steals the movie but take nothing away from the supporting roles. Despite a lack of screen time, Newton did a good job too and we got a sense of her relationship with Smith without being shown too much of it. Howe, Castellaneta and Fuller are also all solid, but take nothing away from Jaden Smith. On paper, this just looks like he got the role because of his father but it turns out he's genuinely very good in this film. He has great chemistry with Will Smith too obviously and even the scenes near the beginning where the two of them are just walking down the streets were still good to watch. Jaden's role just seemed to get more challenging as the film went on but I got to tell you he absolutely nailed it. My favourite scene in the movie was when both Will and Jaden were sitting in the Subway and the two of them pretended to go back in time. That scene in particular was just magnificent and both of them performed wonderfully. I loved getting to see the bond between the two of them as the film went on. Not only is the movie actually a very interesting watch, it's also excellently executed with a great lead performance and truly special relationship between father and son. It's impossible not to get sucked into this incredible story and though the film did have too many scenes of the Smiths running through busy streets it's still a must-watch, feel-good movie. ★★★★
"Let me explain something to you, Dave. There are two kinds of angry people in this world: explosive and implosive. Explosive is the kind of individual you see screaming at the cashier for not taking their coupons. Implosive is the cashier who remains quiet day after day and finally shoots everyone in the store. You're the cashier."
-"No, no, no. I'm the guy hiding in the frozen food section dialling 911. I swear."
💨+Anger Management-2003+📈 #angermanagement
Good morning to all, it is a great day today. It's been 10 years since I started a strategy to help myself out of the negative of life and this is what happens when we have anger and addictions, is we wake allowing the negatives of life to control our day.
Today is a great day, I said this 3 times in front of the mirror, while trying to bring a smile to my face, (yes challenging when the heart is not smiling or even feeling it). With each today is a great day, I gave the next more enthusiasm and after 6 months of doing this strategy everyday, my days were gaining strength, the negatives of life were not affecting me till lunchtime and after a year, the word great was a part of my everyday life, as it is today.
