First Grade took a grand tour of our downtown today! My class started with a tour of our local Post Office. Each student received a parcel with their name on it and some goodies! We even got to see a package of live baby chick's that could be sent through the mail! Next, we stopped at the City Park for some play time. We then visited the Police Department where the kids learned about dispatching and evidence collection. The officers even finger printed them! They also got to take a look at one of the few police trucks in the state! Next door to the police station is the Fire Department. They got to get into the Ladder Truck and learned a lot about what it takes to be a firefighter! We then trekked over to the Center for the Arts building to visit some of their favorite people, Paul and Katie. They Center has a really neat kids exhibit right now and they loved exploring the different learning centers. We had a picnic lunch in the park, complete with a round of "Who Stole the Cookies from the Cookie Jar?!". After lunch, we walked to the theater for an afternoon showing of Smurfs 2! Each student received a popcorn and a soft drink. It was such a great day! So much thanks to all of the community members, parents, and teachers, and volunteers who made today happen. It is something I think many of them will cherish for a long time! #teacherlife#fieldtrip#communityfieldtrip#iteachfirst#firstgrade#makelearningfun#adaytoremember#theylovedeatinglunch 😂 #alifeworthliving
Our last day at the Hard Rock with my coaching family ended yesterday with tons of pool time, body boarding 🏄 , lunch with super trainers 💪🏼, dancing 💃🏼, fireworks 💥, laughing, inspiring, eating, drinking fun "virgin" drinks 🍹, singing, & eating a yummy steak dinner. Strange how you could meet people from the Internet but when you get together feel like a family. I truly feel blessed to be apart of such an amazing, empowering, and inspiring group of ladies. I really do love ❤️ what I get to do!
