What kind of a person would you be if you *knew* that you could
anything you desired?
What if you're just temporarily experiencing lack right now to fully experience the delicious contrast of actualizing your desires?
When you're AWARE of what you're believing (to be true for you),
That is the experience you have in your life.
Remember that you're powerful beyond any external circumstances, + all you ever need is
within you! 💖
Photo taken last night whilst leaving Nong Khai train station. I spent the night on the train and I'm now waiting in Don Muang Airport Bangkok to leave for Phnom Penh.
I have been to Cambodia before so I'm aware of what is in store and for some reason I'm feeling a little apprehensive. I had a breakdown in Laos when I was near the bus station, there was so much poverty it was heartbreaking, I was ok and then I walked into a mall and saw a BMW, Swiss watches and major brand names and I broke down and cried. The financial divide ripped at my heart strings, but also my own conscience.
I started to think about my own greed and desires for flashy things and I felt true shame...it was very humbling. For the first time in my minimalist journey I truly realized how the world controls us to buy into consumerism and how we can abuse these privileges that we are given.
When you are traveling on a shoestring budget and you are walking 10-25km daily you see a lot of the place that you are in. It is far different to a holiday staying in a resort being chauffeured from attraction to attraction.
I am truly seeing the world for what it really is and I feel I'm growing as a person like I never have before in my whole life....For each experience good and bad I sick back and reflect and ask myself how has this changed you??? I know one thing that has grown in me whilst traveling and that's tolerance, acceptance and I've learnt not to sweat the small things...I still can improve in these three things, but I have certainly grown.
Enough rambles, just a brief update of my journey for those following... The greatest gift we are given is life, take it and grab it by the horns and enjoy every last second of it....I have so many empty yesterdays worrying about things I couldn't change, but I know one thing...my tomorrows are full of new experiences and adventures...
